Councillor candidates

Jon Eadie

I am a 36-year-old family man with three children under 10 and an amazing partner in life. After graduating from my Electrical Engineering Technologist program, I began my career with BC Hydro in Cranbrook.

Our family moved to Kamloops three years ago to pursue a distribution design management opportunity and we liked the idea of living in Kamloops. It was a temporary job and, luckily, the opportunity to become the Interior Express Connect Manager out of Kamloops came up and that is what I do now.

I manage a portion of the department that gets work orders to the crew to power your new home or upgrade the electrical service to an older one, and a lot more that I won't go into detail about. I believe my experience at BC Hydro translates directly to municipal politics. I have to run a budget, respect the ratepayers, manage employees, collaborate between various departments plus external contractors, and deliver excellent customer service while doing so.

I would bring integrity and unbiased representation to council, plus a commitment to listen to the people and all sides of issues. My goal as a councillor would be to focus on fostering a collaborative environment at the table to move forward on issues that matter to the people for the greater good. Also, I am a realist — there are lots of improvements I would like to see, but we need to find ways to afford them first.

Please do reach out if you would like to get to know me more. To contact me, call the campaign at 250-320-3035.
